gbrowse-data software package provides Sample data to use GBrowse, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gbrowse-data
gbrowse-data is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gbrowse-data package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gbrowse-data *
You will get with gbrowse-data package name, version, architecture and description in a table
